About
Erica Booker, LCSW

(She/Her)

I earned my bachelor’s and Master’s degree at California State University, Northridge and have been practicing since 2011. I have experience in working with all age groups, sexual orientations, cultures and viewpoints. One of the most important indicators of successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship and I aim to be open and authentic in an effort to work together successfully towards your goals.

My hope is to provide a comfortable space for people to feel heard and understood while navigating the complex emotions we all experience.

Specialties

My usual clients are ones that are eager to put the effort in to making a change in their lives. They know it will be hard work and will not happen overnight but are dedicated to learning how to move along in their lives. My niche are client’s who struggle with anxiety, work stress, feeling overwhelmed, trouble with life transitions, trauma and issues with intimacy.

Approach

My approach includes the use of complementary modalities to acknowledge feelings and emotions and notice that they do eventually pass. The idea is to learn how to be emotionally agile and use the emotions you experience as data which can tell you what action you may need to take. We also turn your traumas and experiences into meaningful narratives that can be woven into your history in order to lessen the possible negative effect they have on you. It is also extremely important to me to be culturally competent and LGBTQ+ affirming in my work with clients.
